Member Services Chairman
Hello! I am the new Member Services Chairman for The Garden Club of Indiana. Now you may be asking yourself, exactly what does the Member Services Chairman do? My main job is to be a liaison between the club members and Member Services of the National Garden Clubs. I let you know what is available for members whether it is to help with your programs, videos or slides to rent or buy, or jewelry or books to purchase. In this issue, I would like to highlight just a few items. The National Garden Clubs has put together 9 Yearly Program Lesson Plans. Each plan consists of a yearbook theme, program plan outlines and at least 20 programs. Each month has a program, with at least one alternate program, plus a suggested roll call in addition to other exhibits for members to bring. Now, it isn’t going to give you word for word a program, you do have to do some work, but it does give you a great start. The cost of each yearly lesson plan is $10 plus shipping. At the present time, National’s website talks about the new Yearly Program Lesson Plans, but the actual listing is not up yet. I do have a list if anyone is interested, just e-mail me or call me and I will get the info to you. Also to promote National President May’s “Native Plant” theme, a lovely Austrian crystal pin shaped like a leaf is being sold. The individual pins are $12 plus shipping and handling, though there is a quantity discount on 25 or more. It actually is a very nice pin and could be worn for any function, not just Garden Club meetings. And President May will be attending our State Convention in April, wouldn’t it be nice to have a lot of our members wearing this pin? Again, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call or e-mail me. Cynthia Wright
