As of August 18, 2009, your acting District Director is back to being me, Paulette Balmer. Joy Lovitt thanks you for all of your concerns and prayers for her husband Kenny, and herself. Kenny’s treatments leave him with unpredictable days, therefore Joy has unpredictable days. Keep them both in prayer.
District Club Presidents
Please forward this newsletter to all of your members with e-mail. And bring up the information at your meetings that would be of interest to your members.
State President Joyce Bulington would like to know of any Garden Club that is celebrating a milestone anniversary this year. She would also love to be invited to one of your meetings. And it doesn’t need to be anything special, she just wants to come and meet you!

The South East District Meeting is October 6, 2009 in Greenwood Indiana. I will send an update as soon as I know something. Please send a member of your club to attend this important meeting.
The By Laws and revised Standing Rules need to be voted on at this District Meeting. (See attachment)
Just a suggestion for club presidents: It might be a good idea to appoint a small committee to go over the Standing Rules and By Laws. This would help raise questions or help club members understand better how the Garden Club of Indiana, INC and South East District function.
This is also the year to elect new district officers. Let me know of any one interested in serving on the district level.
